Prophecy

The Purpose of Prophecy

Why is prophecy so intriguing? Everywhere you turn, people are interested in knowing the future. The Greeks consulted the Oracle of Delphi, inhaling vapors to gain some utterance of the future. Others have gazed into crystal balls, studied tea leaves, flipped Tarot cards, or invited somebody to evaluate the wrinkles in their palms. Some get mixed up in Ouija boards, and a few desperate souls even consult mediums who dialogue with demons masquerading as the dead.  Read More >>

Prophets

What is the purpose of a prophet? Deuteronomy 18:18-19, NKJV. "I will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among their brethren, and will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him. And it shall be that whoever will not hear My words, which He speaks in My name, I will require it of him." What is the purpose of a prophet? To communicate to His people - Hosea 12:10, NKJV. "I have also spoken by the prophets, and have multiplied visions; I have given symbols through the witness of the prophets."  Read More >>

How To Identify A False Prophet

Protecting ourselves from being deceived or misled by a false prophet would seem to me to be a pretty important thing for Christians to do, especially at this time in Earth’s history. So I have put together some guidelines which can be used for those who may be in doubt about whether or not someone could mislead them. Would you go and listen to someone who had not so much as entered any of our denominational educational institutions? Could you safely follow the teachings of someone whom most church leaders had condemned?  Read More >>

Israel and the Middle East

Have you noticed how the terrible hatred between the Jews and Arabs keeps the Middle East in a seething, sizzling ferment all the time? Perhaps no two races on the face of the earth are so violent in their antagonism to each other. Other religious groups have fought and killed each other, such as the Hindus and Muslims in India, and also the Catholics and Protestants in Ireland; but no bitterness seems quite so deep and enduring as the withering hatred of these two peoples for each other.  Read More >>

Israel in Prophecy

The devil has successfully planted a dangerous lie in Christian theology, and it has been unwittingly hatched, adopted, and nurtured by most evangelical churches. Today, millions of people the world over who are interested in Bible prophecy have their eyes fixed upon Jerusalem. Christians are constantly speculating about the modern state of Israel, a rebuilt Jewish temple, and a Middle East Armageddon. . .  Read More >>

Eight Signs of the End

Will there be an "end of the world," or is such an idea simply the opinion of kooks who stand on street corners waving "The End is Near" signs? Believe it or not, according to the Bible, yes, there will be an end. Jesus Christ predicted, "And this gospel [Good News] of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come"(Matthew 24:14). Are there any legitimate and observable "signs" of this approaching finale? Once again, the answer is yes. While many supposed "signs" appear daily on the covers of America's sensational tabloids, here are eight true biblical signs worth listing:  Read More >>

The Second Beast

In the thirteenth chapter of the book of Revelation, we can see two beasts brought to view. These two beasts represent two kingdoms. As we study the first beast, it is shown without any doubt that this beast represents papacy. The first beast or papacy comes up out of the sea. According to Revelation 17:15 the sea or water represents multitudes of people of the Old World. Babylon, Persia, Greece, and Rome – that is the Old World. Where does the second beast come from?  Read More >>

The 144,000

Before the probation ends for the world, it will most certainly end for God’s church first. Through the justice God will serve upon His remnant people, He will have a purified church.  It is that justice, and the manner in which He will purify this church, that is the object of our study today. The 144,000.There are 4 questions we must answer. 1. When will the 144,000 be sealed? 2. Will it only be SDA’s or will there be some in the world who will be sealed? 3. Is the 144,000 a literal number or is it only symbolic as many believe? 4. What will happen to those who are not part of the 144,000?   Read More >>

Great Tribulation

Jesus said that a terrible time of trouble would come upon the world just before His return and that it would be more intense than any other in the history of this world. "For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved." Matthew 24:21, 22.  Read More >>

Seven Last Plagues

In ancient times, God’s people the Israelites were slaves in Egypt. God wanted to take them out but Pharaoh hardened his heart. When Egypt’s pharaoh refused to let God’s people go and instead took away their right to a Sabbath rest, God struck Egypt with plagues (Exodus 5). These events symbolize what will happen in the final days. The circumstances will be similar, and the application will be universal . . .   Read More >>

The Battle of Armageddon

The name “ARMAGEDDON” strikes terror and foreboding in the minds of many. Some imagine a monumental world war surrounding the Middle East. Others envision an Antichrist battling for world supremacy. Still others do not know what to believe or expect. The word “Armageddon” itself translates “a symbolic name” . Yet the Scriptures do teach that there will be an immense battle which involves the whole world!   Read More >>

Second Coming

In the midst of a troubled and distressed world, here is a message of hope and good cheer: “I will come again,” says Jesus. An overshadowing fear is gripping all nations today. Civilization’s future is dark indeed. Night seems to be settling down upon a world that has been in rebellion against the Lord God of heaven. Men’s hearts are “failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth.” (Luke 21:26.) But amid the darkness that enshrouds us is the blessed hope that gleams from the “gates ajar,” the hope of Christ’s Second Coming.  Read More >>

The Millenium and the End of Sin

Throughout history there have been those who have waxed eloquent about the horrors of hell, playing on people's fear in an attempt to bring them to worship God. But what kind of god do they portray? How will God finally get rid of evil? What will happen to Satan? What will keep sin from erecting its ugly head once more? How can a just God also be loving? During the millennium, the thousand-year period of which the twentieth chapter of Revelation speaks, Satan's influence over the earth will be restricted, and Christ will reign with His saints (Rev. 20:1-4).   Read More >>

Heaven on Earth

The book of Revelation states: - "Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. Then I, John, saw the holy city New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, 'Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people."   Read More >>

The New Earth

The first two chapters of the Bible tell of God's creation of a perfect world as a home for the human beings He created. The Bible's last two chapters also speak of God's creating a perfect world for humanity—but this time it's a re-creation, a restoration of the earth from the ravages sin brought. Over and over the Bible declares that this eternal home of the redeemed will be a real place, a locality that real people with bodies and brains can see, hear, touch, taste, smell, measure, picture, test, and fully experience. It is on the new earth that God will locate this real heaven.  Read More >>
